Reading and Post Schedule

A Four and a Half Week Literary Journey

Hey Everyone!

I'm really excited to begin our readings! Here is the schedule for a suggested reading timeline. Of course, you don't have to follow it and may read at your own pace. This is just so everyone knows when there will be discussion posts. We'll have a week and a half for Life of Pi and three weeks for The Help. This means, we'll be averaging 30 pages a day if you want to follow the schedule.

Schedule:
Life of Pi By: Yann Martel
319 pages
30 pgs / day
Dec16 – Dec23: 210 pages (p.210)
Dec23 – Dec27: 109 pages (p.319)
Dec28: Final discussion of Life of Pi

The Help By: Kathryn Stockett
530 pages
30pgs / day
Dec29 – Dec30: 60 pages
Dec30 – Jan6: 210 pages (p.270)
Jan6 – Jan13: 210 pages (p.480)
Jan13 – Jan15: 50 pages (p.530)
Jan16: Final discussion of The Help

You may go as fast or as paced as you'd like. The discussion posts will be posted on Dec 23, 27, 28, 30, and Jan 6, 15, and 16. This will keep people in the know of the future spoiler alerts in case anyone wants to take it a littler slower.

How Discussions Will Take Place
On the discussion days, I will post a question or a thought about the book and everyone can answer my response or contribute their own thoughts. This blog is meant to be a place that people can say what they got from the literature. Literature is beautiful because it is so interpretive. No one will have the same reading. This element of literature is what will make these discussions so interesting. I look forward to all of your thoughts.
